UStream, BAFTAs, and (Sorta-)Milestones
January 21, 2010

Thanks to everyone who came out for my UStream tonight! It theoretically should have recorded the show, so if you missed it, you can still see it here - I talked about the BAFTA nominations, my top ten of the year (and worst 26 of the decade), and drew most of tomorrow's comic. I'm definitely going to do this again soon, it was a lot of fun!

SO! In movie news: the BAFTA nominations were just announced! Normally, I don't pay much attention to them, but I do honestly believe that 2009 was a wonderful year for movies and there are a few of them that I'm trying to play a cheerleader for as we get up the Oscar hype.

The two biggest campaigns I'm fighting for is 1) "Moon" to get a Best Picture/Director/Actor nominations. Sam Rockwell is incredible in this movie and the more people who know that, the better off everyone will be. 2) Is for "Me & Orson Welles" to get a Best Supporting Actor nod for Christian McKay.

If you check out the BAFTA nominations, most of this is coming true. Why this is important is that all of the award shows leading into the Oscars are all considered forecasters for the Oscars. Before these were announced, I had no idea that Christian McKay had a shot at a nomination. Now I've got something to hold onto. And any added attention to those two movies (especially Moon) is always wonderful.

Cross your fingers, everyone.

Also, I should point out (since Ren pointed it out to me) that this is officially Brothers Donathan #150. Outside the depression that comes with only being at 150 - I will express pride that 40% of it went up since last November. Yikes. Let's keep it going!
